About me
Katie McCabe is an Assistant Professor in the Exceptional Education Department at Buffalo State University, with a Ph.D. in Special Education and a minor in Qualitative Research Methods from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. A former special education teacher in rural Upstate New York, her research focuses on implementing inclusive practices for students with disabilities who have complex support needs, particularly in rural schools. Katie’s teaching emphasizes addressing ableism and preparing future educators to be leaders in inclusive education. Her goal is to equip educators to advocate for students with disabilities and ensure access to general education for all learners.
