About me
Dr. Natalie Andzik is an Associate Professor in the Department of Special and Early Education at Northern Illinois University. Natalie's research interest grew from her experiences as a special educator in California. There, she worked with students with mild to significant disabilities and supported teams when making intervention, educational, and placement decisions. Natalie found that the number one determining factor determining students' future was their ability to communicate independently. Natalie’s research focuses on supporting communication independence among individuals who require significant support. She believes teachers, parents, paraeducators, and other school-based practitioners benefit from support when implementing evidence-based practices.
