About me
Elizabeth E. Biggs, Ph.D. is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Special Education at Vanderbilt University and a member of the Vanderbilt Kennedy Center. Her work focuses on promoting social, communication, language, and literacy outcomes for children and youth with autism, intellectual disability, and/or multiple disabilities who have complex communication needs. She is especially interested in supporting implementation of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) in natural environments, such as schools, with families, and in the community. At Vanderbilt, she teaches classes on general education access and literacy for students with complex support needs. She was the 2016 TASH award winner of the Alice H. Hayden Emerging Leader Award.
